Petticoat Junction and Billy joe

I been watching this show latley and it seems that billy joe ( Gunilla Hutton ) who was only in one season wasn't even in many episodes that season. Why was she not on the show for so many episodes? What was the reason for her being on only one season?

I know what you mean, even when Gunilla was replaced the character of Billie Jo seems not to be a very popular, compared to Bobby Jo and Betty Jo. Since Betty Jo was related to Henning one can assume some favourtism there.
