Phase 2 Spring Trends...

In the wake of all the Hurricane coverage, the Spring Trends came out for 12+

Nice numbers for
KBXX (still number one)
KLTN (climbing back, after stumbling a little)
KTBZ (KLOL's loss of new Rock, is their gain)
KKRW (KLOL's loss of old Rock, is their gain, having the Colonel also helps)
KTJM/KJOJ-FM (the biggest jump in shares, are they running a contest?)
KHMX (continues to trend up, and I must admit they do sound better)

Rough numbers for
KKBQ (I guess Tuttle & Kline aren't catching on)
KLDE (I hope the oldies don't go away)
KIOL (It's not too late for Active Rock)
KROI (It's not too late for Gospel or Urban Oldies/Blues-Zydeco)
KBME (a full share behind KILT, it's not working)

The rest of the stations kind of hovered around their same trends.

Isnt it about time to say goodbye to XO radio? for over 2 years now XO radio has been around and hasnt put good numbers up, I would like to see something else like maybe jammin oldies or something to return to Houston, kind of like what BMP did to 94.1 in San antonio, they shifted to Jammin oldies, and look at the raitings, there doing great. I just cant understand why Liberman wont give it a try. it might work!

Jammin' Oldies would work, beautifully, in Houston if....it was executed properly. That's the key. The problem with execution, these days, is that the corporate types hire a consultant who pulls out his "Jammin' Oldies" formula that worked in San Diego, or L.A., or Chicago, and applies it to Houston. Then, to keep costs down, they voice track, or worse yet, just roll the music without personalities to give the station a sense of place. Then again, I've just become a little skeptical in my old age.
