PHIL HENDRIE UNHINGED

What's going on with Phil Hendrie? On tonight's show there was some audio difficulty and in the middle of a clip he came back on in a blithering tirade against his behind-the-glass people "can't you guys get anything right?"

Yee gads, I would sure hate working with him as a technical director or producer. Technical problems should be dealt with off the air....

And saved for blooper reels, like that Bill O'Reilly rampage against the faulty teleprompter that someone later made into a dance remix :)

I recall a poster here, once saying about the show, "Can you believe the guests he has on? Where in the world do they come from? I cannot believe the things they were saying!!" Stuff like that....

I believe the first reply was, "Should we tell him (the above poster, I mean)?" ;)

Maybe it's the split-personality thing that has gotten him this far in popularity, the same thing is also tearing him apart on the insides? I know it would confuse me.

I don't know what's going on with him. This isn't the first time he's gotten mad over technical issues, and what's strange is he's been angrier over trivial crap. If I was Jason Rantz I'd quit.

I don't see how Ted Bell from Ted Bell's Steakhouse keeps running ads on his show.

Maybe Ted pays in steaks?

Bud Dickman has a metal plate in his head - it's not his fault.

I ran a poll once asking "Which one of Phil Hendrie's guests would you most like to spend an evening with?" and realized the correct answer was "None of them". Perhaps Ted Bell would be interesting if he threw in a free rib eye steak with the unlimited soup and salad bar.

Pretty funny, upstate bill.

Ruth Krisp! home the the crispiest steaks in town.

I've always preferred Ruth's Chris steak house even though I can't figure out who owns the joint, Ruth or Chris or none of the above.

Off the topic of radio, but on topic regarding tasty slices of dead cows, the story is that Chris owned a steak house and named it after himself. Ruth bought it, and operated it under the original name, which was very well known. There was a fire that burned it down, so she built a new restaurant a few blocks away. Her contract only allowed her to use the name "Chris Steak House" at the original location, so she had to change the name to "Ruth's Chris Steak House".

Personally, if I want a really good steak, I'm either going to an independent local restaurant, preferably an Argentinian place, or I'm going to Whole Foods to buy a grass fed raw steak I'll grill myself.

Hendrie has done so much to alienate his fans in the last few years (scroll down the the thread where he screwed over his biggest fans)

Phil was brilliant, he was a great listen. Evidently he has lots of personal problems that have kept him in the sorry state he is in.

I used to be a big fan, but now, as far as I'm concerned, Phil can screw himself. All of his problems are because of him. He had a great show, he had top notch writers, had a supportive wife, etc. But he blew it, he quit his great show, started a new show that wasn't good, then tried too late to go back to what he once had.

In Phoenix, he was on two of the largest stations in town, huge coverage all across the state, now he is on a tiny station with no night coverage, languishing in the middle of nowhere.

I'd feel sorry for him, but he is a jerk and its his fault that he has rapidly become a has-been.
