Another N/A for WIP-AM. That's a 0, right? That's amazing to me. WPEN, when it was on AM and was all ESPN, never got that low, did it?

Drop for KYW, to a 5.8. Is that your normal summer drop for news, or is it lower?

Drops for MMR and MGK. MGK lost a month of gains. MMR two months. Maybe lots of vacation for the morning show? I don't know. Just a guess.

Similar anemic ratings for the two political talk stations at 2.1 for WWIQ and 2.0 for WPHT. WPEN-FM was worse with a 1.8 but probably better demos. WIP-FM even with a 3.5.

I wonder what WIP's ratings would be today if the flip to FM never happened. If WIP had a 2.5 and WYSP had a 2.0, wouldn't CBS be better off than with 3.5 and 0? I guess the question is which number is higher. The revenue increase from that 1.0 in extra share, or the cost to run WYSP.

I have a feeling that WPHT might change formats soon. I hate to say it.

But Julius, you've been saying it for months now.

What we've been seeing in Philly, is what other cities in which Rush and Hannity are on Cumulus stations are about to see. Cumulus talkers (especially those that used to be ABC owned stations) go to local talk. Rush and Hannity move to another station. The right-wing talk audience is divided.

From the product both sports stations are overachieving in the ratings. Big sports fan and my mid day choices are "As the Garganos Turn" and 2 clowns who should probably be working in the Home Depot lumber aisle. Unbelievable.

Now that Merlin's unloaded WWIQ, watch WPHT's numbers bounce back slightly, although I think most of IQ's listeners will probably drift to WNTP.

WPHT cost less to run after the syndicated shows were unloaded, meaning that even though their ratings were down and their billing was less, the station was more profitable.

Between Rush and Dom Giordano, it's going to be Dom with the last laugh in Philadelphia.

The listeners to conservative talk radio in this and apparently every market have never 'drifted' to WNTP or any of the Salem talk stations. Before WWIQ, WPHT cornered that market & then when WWIQ signed on the audience split between those 2 stations. WNTP has never generated any numbers here & only would if they dropped the Salem talk lineup (unlikely) to pick up the syndicated shows WWIQ runs now. Last I looked there was no city where the Salem shows did well, not even in southern/Midwest markets where a mix of conservative talk with conservative Christian leanings should do well. I just don't see a situation where suddenly "most of IQ's listeners will probably drift to WNTP" given the current programming.
