Philadelphia Radio Should Be Creative And Try Something Different

For the life of me, can someone out there please explain to me why both B101 WBEB FM and WJBR 99.5 FM will only play the Singers and Standards music only during December at Christmas time, and no other time of the year? You would think that at least one of these stations would want to switch over to the format that WEZW FM 93.1 in Wildwood, N.J. is using? The Singers and Standards sound deserves to be played all year round, not just at Christmas time. If WBEB can play Jimmy Durante, Perry Como Andy Williams, and Frank Sinatra at Christmas time, why not play them all year round? If WJBR can play the Christy Minstrells and Andy Williams at Christmas time, why not play them all year round? I just don't understand the logic behind this? Can someone please explain it to be?

I wish WJBR would at least put this format on their HD-2. Right now their HD transmitter is a waste because there's no HD2.

I liked the station Stardust 105.7 in Virginia, with an adult standards format like you're describing.

Forever 1210 AM has had Sundays with Sinatra, playing a lot of the Sinatra classics. I agree with the main point tho - once in a while you will have someone go to Doris Day, Perry Como, Patti Paige and it is really great.

again those artists do not fit the format they play, at least at B101 Thats like having them play Metallica in the midd of the day

I wish 98.1 WOGL would put that format on the HD2. 101.9 Lite FM in Baltimore has an Adult Standards format on the HD3

Older people typically like this format. When I say "older," I mean 65+. How many 65+ year olds have an HD radio? A waste of time, unfortunately.

B101 is more in line with a CHR if you ask me.
AC has been on a track to Hot AC/CHR for a while.
Soft AC would be nice on WBEB's HD2.
would be kinda cool of if the HD2 would compliment each other.
Greater Media I believe does this with both WMMR and WMGK (though i haven't heard the HD2 channels yet.

How many 55+ have HD Radios? All of them in their BMWs, Lexus, Cadillacs, Acuras, Lincolns, Benz, Infinitys, etc. How many 18-34 year olds? Not many unless they installed their own in their own or own a new Ford or Toyota.
