Phile Donahue for Air America

After he beat the living snot out of O'Reilly the other night it got my mind thinking which is sometimes a dangerous thing for me to do.

I have tried to listen to Air America umpteen times only to be bored to tears and finding myself hating their programs.

But I think that Donahue would be a great acquistion for AA and I would listen to him if he had his own show.

Anyone know if this idea has ever been kicked around before?

Also I have noticed that I am also bored to tears with Atlanta talk radio in general.

If not AA maybe Donahue should give GST a phone call?

not enough boys and girls clubs left to rip off to pay him.

The problem with AA is that they end up in that conspiracy mode favored by franken and rhodes, they never bitch about actual activities and its killing them. Find actual bs that conservatives are doing and then make it entertaining, franken is not entertaining at all and rhodes would be if she would quit taking her show notes from the democraticunderground website.

BTW, O'reilly is an idiot and unless he has his notes out in front of him he cant hold up his points. Phil isnt that much better as proved by his failed show on whichever high number channel he was on, I think it was msnbc. If you watched it you would relize that he cant talk about a topic very long which is what made him a good daytime show, he just led his guests along and let them control the show. Phil may make a good edition but how much longer is AA gonna be around? Eventually they will have to make money off of advertising.
______________

Rhodes, yea. But Franken is no conspiracy theorist. Most of his show is centered around the very format you claim he isn't doing.

Franken and Garafalo are rumored to be comics. And the latter is so bitter and spiteful and full of herself, I can't listen. The former is at least a little lighthearted but condescending.

Not that I agree with his politics, but Rush seems to do it, very often, in a confident light-hearted tone. Always? No. But he's goofy sometimes. These two "comics" are waaaaaaay too serious about themselves.

Agreed. Half the time (maybe more than that) Garafalo sounds like a freshman English major with liberal parents...and I know, I was once like that a long, long time ago. She's spiteful, bitter, horrible on the radio and very full of herself. Franken's show is okay, but not really enough zing to make it listenable.

As for Rhodes - she's the left's version of Rush, I think. Good sense of humor, whipsmart, and capable of attacking like a pitbull.

The worst shows on AA (in my opinion) are: Jerry Springer - too grating, too ill-informed and too wussy liberal. Then there's Robert F. Kennedy's show...what the hell is up with his voice? Why does he always sound like he's choking back the tears?

Donahue would make a good fit for AA.

Yeah I can agree with almost everything else but Rhodes is not even close to Rush, most of her topics are a crock with no basis in reality. Hell at least Rush has a little truth to his show, not much but a little and personally I cant stand him. Her shows are full of innuendo and very little factual evidence.
______________

He may be attempting to do it but he is doing a poor job and he isnt very entertaining at all which is the whole point of hiring him. His books are ok simply because he spout opinion and not get called on it, while on the air he has to choose his words more clearly cause if he doesnt he looks supid. I feel sorry for the left, I never thought I would see the day when the right looked like the sane people.
______________

You're right - but I'm in the mind that a little pit-bull left-wing propaganda is a nice alternative to, say, Hannity or Michael Savage. Rush is generally truthful, but not often...plus, he slips up a lot and actually has to explain his miscues (re: Mayor "Nay-Ger")
