Phill Hall to KLUV?

I live in the Los Angeles area and a few of my old buddies have told me Phil Hall former PD at K-Earth is talking with the NY people about programming KLUV in Dallas with a major house cleaning expected.

Anyone in the Big D heard of this?

I worked part time at KRTH many years ago. Recently K-Earth has been sounding really good. I'm retired now and work part time as a security guard and listen all night and i'm not hearing as much repetition. Is KLUV streaming live yet?

I was just out there this summer - I think KLUV is better sounding (better audio quality), and plays better music than KRTH. There are some superb DJ's at KLUV, hopefully the folks in NY will respect talent and not clean house - and replace with broadcast school graduates that work cheap. There would be a lot of backlash from listeners, and there is a rim shot oldies station that would probably love to get them!

You mean KXEZ? KXEZ will still stay with the net(ABC) Hal Mayfield will still miss posts when doing morning and afternoon traffic and come into the middle of a song( with all respect to Mr. Mayfield). They will still do high school sports on a "tinny" phone line and replay some games post 11pm on fridays ( a waste). KXEZ has potential but Ken Jones doesn't put any effort into it and favors KHYI.

According to the latest ratings, for the first time KHYI didn't show. I doubt Phil Hall will be going to KLUV. He's old school thinking.

RE rbrucecarter's hoping the NY folks will respect talent and not hire cheap wannabe air staff. A lot of people hope along with you, but expecting that the brass will highly regard any people who cost the company money and have minds of their own is asking quite a lot. Regarding listener backlash, that would be the last concern of the suits who know best. Still, let's indeed hope "they" leave KLUV well enough alone.
