Phillies games on radio

I would like to see the Phillies games on radio on ONE station, instead of 2. I think that 94 WIP should be the new flagship station of the Phillies, since they talk about and cover the Phillies a lot better, than the FLAGSHIP station 1210 WPHT. Thoughts?
 
Julius, why cut out the AM listener and only air the Phils on FM? Both AM WPHT and FM WIP benefit in spot revenue and ratings carrying the Phillies. My guess is, for the "network" spots [those spots aired by the Phillies Radio Network that all the affiliates must air, before cutting away for their local avails] price is based on how many stations are carrying the game. So having both WPHT and WIP-FM allows the network to charge more for their spots. Just like the more cities that the game has stations carrying the Phils, 22 total in Pa, Del, and NJ, also adds to that price. Remember both WIP-FM and WPHT-AM are owned by the same company. Both carry the game same live feed that they generate. So big deal if the flag ship is the AM. Who cares?
 
Suppose, and this is purely theoretical, that someone objected to the Phillies potentially enhancing the ratings of 1210. That could be a reason to want them off 1210.

Really the only valid reason I could imagine would be fans of talk radio objecting to their shows being pre-empted. Somehow, I don't think that's what this thread is about.

I was happy when the Phillies moved to 94.1, and that's where I listen. On the other hand, I can't think of a reason why I should object to the games being on 1210 for those who like to listen there.
 
All I know is when these losers start the season again and play night games on the coast, once again CTCAM will be pre-emptied to make room for Hannity. This happened every other week last season. Something should be done about this, they should be stripped of CTCAM but who else would carry it....bad enough they pre-empty CTCAM on weekends all year round.

And 1210 ran the ENTIRE Hannity program, after Phillies games last season.
 
And many times when ctcam came on after Hannity it was like 3am and most of the show was missing also on weekends its not available. 1210 should just unload this cash cow..instead of making the listeners tune to sky wave outlets...to hear the show or try and pull in 1450...
 
If no one else is likely to carry it, how would the situation be different from a practical standpoint if 1210 "let it go?" Other than for all of the non-Phillies nights (and the off season) it wouldn't be available at all locally. And that seems like not much of an improvement.
 
What I don't understand is outlets in very small markets, example KVPI in Villa Platt Louisiana on a 1kw signal, plus many other small areas air this show in its entirety 7 days a week. In this large market you always have to be on pins and needles wondering if its going to be on or pre-emptied or cut back. It would be acceptable if there was another listenable signal besides WWVA or WILM which are sporatic at best, where I live its only 1210 with a clear signal. This is the only large metro where ctcam is not reliable. The only good thing is 1210 does air the last hour of the previous nights show from midnight to 1:00AM weekdays, when the Phillies are off, in case you missed the previous nights show, this is before the live show starts at 1:00AM...

First- It's preempted. Not pre-emptied. Nitpicky. Sorry.

Second, 1210 has the contract for the show. The Phillies have a contract as well. The Phillies contract says they air live over everything else. Which means other shows get bumped backwards.

If say, 990 WNTP thought it would be worthwhile, they could go to CTCAM and say "hey. When your current contract is up, we'll take you on our 50,000 watt stick and air your full show every night."

Apparently, financially, it's not a good move, so they haven't.

If it made financial sense for any other party, the show would have been off of 1210 already. It isn't.
 
Coast, like every other overnight show these days, is filler. You're probably the only person in Philadelphia that cares if it gets bumped.

Other people that love this show, care about this. Those listeners won't speak up and tell the people that run the station why they're show is constantly not being cleared for all 4 hours, live, 7 nights a week, etc.
