Phillippe Petit and George Willig - how did NYC radio cover it?

Whoever thinks of the late, great Twin Towers is wise to think of Phillippe Petit, who walked a high wire between them (and was sentenced to walking another one over Central Park) and George Willig, who climbed up the side of one of them (and was fined IIRC a penny a story).

My question (I was young and naive at the time ;D, and I've never been a metro NYC resident) is, how did NYC radio cover these events as they unfolded? Did they? I'm especially interested in how WCBS-AM, WINS, and WABC handled these, er, stunts.

Thanks in advance. Personal stories of that day are welcome too.
