Philly goes "Fresh"?

Hmmm. Can anyone name the latest Philly format flip (or even name change) that ended successfully by actually increasing revenue and ratings?

It would have been back in 199_? (Fill in the blank)

Got it. KBIG. LA.

What’s the time period “ending” is defined as? Some see a quick and pronounced bump (Jammin Gold) but flame out over a few years or have up and down cycles that should be examined on an average basis over the long haul to make a fair comparison. To date, Ben seems to be a good example of a flip that has done well—aren’t ratings up over Mix? Admittedly the swuitch to PPMs will have made comparisons a bit more challenging, but this is about the best they’ve done since Max showed up.

At the very least we can speculate that the 104.5 flip will end up on the positive side. Even if WYSP brings constrains 104.5’s initial prospects, anything over a virtual zero as Tuba (isn’t that what WUBA stood for?) is an improvement.
