Spring numbers for Philadelphia's three public radio stations are posted on another board. Here's how they stack up (without Arbitron numbers, but y'all know where to look those up):
WHYY-FM 90.9 (NPR News and Public Affairs) edges out WPHI-FM (100.3 The Beat)
WRTI-FM 90.1 (Temple Jazz/Classical) is midway between WTHK (The Hawk) and WPHI
WXPN-FM 88.5 (UofP Alternative) ties WDAS-AM
I would have guessed WHYY did a little better overall. I suspect they are much stronger in AM and PM drive (Morning Edition and All Things Considered). Typically, most NPR News stations have huge fall-offs outside of drive times (which is why they call ME and ATC the "tent poles").
I am really surpised at how poorly XPN does. I keep reading how the AAA format is dead, but I didn't think it was that dead in this town.
