Philly Radio Reception

Spent a good part of Tuesday and Wednesday Morning at The Holiday Inn in King of Prussia. (It's on North Gulph Road near the mall).

I brought my Sony Walkman with me to listen to the radio. (I would post a link to my radio, but Walmart's website is down). The only major Philly-area FM station I could not pick up was 107.9 FM. Surprise pick-ups for me were: 93.7 WSTW, 94.5 WDAC, 99.5 WJBR, and 100.7 WLEV.

Comments: I don't know why, but I like WXTU 92.5, better than my local Country station WWYZ. Seems like I like other Country Stations better that WWYZ.

98.1 WOGL was a great listen. It's the station I listened to the most during my short stay. It's a good station and gets the job done. Back home WDRC-FM dropped most of the 60s music and replaced it with 90s music. That's why I think WOGL is a good station.

94.1 WIP-FM - When I was flipping past they were carrying a Phillies game. It sounded loud and lively. Much better than AM.

105.3 WDAS-FM sounded decent too.

B-101 sounds good.

106.9 - Although I'm not a fan of political talk radio they sounded good pretty good. That being said almost anything on 106.9 is better than that Family Radio Garbage they used to carry.

Other stations I really did not check out.

On the AM side I would have to say 860 was the worst sounding station. Whatever Ethnic show they were running when I tuned in it sounded like it was coming in via to tin cans and some string.

1060 KYW was pretty decent, though I think it was silly that they were running an ad at 2:15AM to advertise on the station. They also should drop the HD. I couldn't pick up Hartford's WTIC 1080. I think last time I was in KOP I was able to pick up WTIC at night.

1540 WNWR sounded loud and clear.

Although it was weak 1340 WHAT's Spanish format sounded good.

1480 AM was very faint.
