Philly stations don't get big story in their back yard, but NY station does

Yeah, kinda like the "Fort Dix 6" case, when WNBC-4 broke the story and the NBC-10 morning news had to take their feed (from Camden, no less) to get in on this "breaking news". Honestly, the quality of newscast in this market is akin to what you'd see in Sacramento.
