Philly's CBS Talkers Get Cook-in'

AllAccess is reporting that John Cook (not the pro golfer) will be filling the long-vacated PD spots on 94 WYSP (ex-Free-FM), as well as sister 1210 WPHT. The seats were vacated by Gil Edwards and Grace Blazer, respectively. AllAccess notes Cook "worked for CBS in DALLAS and SAN ANTONIO from 2000-2004 and has also programmed Country KPLX and Top 40 KHKS/DALLAS and Top 40 KIIS/LOS ANGELES."

The PD position at 610 WIP remains open. So far CBS Radio/Philly is 3-for-4 as far as jetting PD's. With WOGL a snug second in the PPM's, I doubt that spot would be open, but hey, ya never know...
 
Wasn't John Cook also at Star 104.5 here in Philly? And isn't he the son of legendary WFIL PD Jay Cook?

Well, according to Radio-Info's front page:

"No need to explain cheesesteaks and Tasty Kakes to John - he grew up watching his father Jay Cook at top 40 WFIL."

An almost heritage 50kw clear channel, major market AM station and a 50kw major market FM station are sharing one PD. Welcome to Sheboygan!
