PHOENIX ARBITRON RATINGS: APRIL 2011

Re: kmle needs a tow

Congrats to kmle...

21st place (w a bullet) a 25-54.

i bet nobody can name the stations/call letters and formats of the 20 stations ahead of kmle.

how long before cbs' seal team drops in for some close range shooting...?

Meanwhile Lumberyard 14~Forty makes it two in a row with increased cume. Somehow we knew that Sportstalk, Kitchentalk, Bollywoodtalk and worn out oldies would eventually find an audience! Imagine the ratings if they only kept it on at night? ;D

Anyone tracking the money demos for KYOT since they dumped the UnCola guy and became the New Sound of Smooth? The 6+ cume shows no appreciable gain or loss.

Actually, they were 20th - and KJZZ was one of the call letters ahead of them.

Very rare to see two Country stations with heritage this far apart..

KKNT is careening down fast.

Well, that is what you get for putting on crap like the nasal screamer Mark Levin and moron Mike Gallagher.

Put Dennis Miller back on in a time that we can listen to him...instead of your low power scratchy signoff.

And good to see 1100 KFNX is still the basement, powerful signal, weak programming.

KOOL and KMLE are the top two stations 55+ ... combining for over a 20 share... that is helping to prop up the 6+ numbers - which is why the latter is a useless measuring stick. However, KOOL looks good 25-54.

That is some irony, since KMLE once marketed themselves as the younger alternative to "stodgy, old" KNIX.

This must be their karma for their choosing Malzberg over Smerconish for their Dr. Laura time slot replacement

...NYC loser vs. Philly loser for replacing a Los Angeles loser? World Wrestling Fake-outs provides a more viable competition...

Malzberg actually beats Hannity in PM Drive in NYC. :)

This isn't NYC, but Phoenix we're talking about. The conservative-talk pie is divided into more slices in the early afternoon hours. Malzberg is not just scheduled against Hannity, but Beck and whoever is on KKNT at that time. KFNX needs to differentiate themselves at this time slot, and that doesn't mean add another two hours of brokered shows.

Dennis miller has become so full of himself, Legend- a real pompous ass lately. I don't think he'd do any better than LeVin. His interviews can be really good though, so can Hewitt's.

At least Smerconish seems to be genuine about his moderate viewpoints, compared to the faux-centrism of Lou Dobbs.

Well, the few listeners that KKNT has left probably wouldn't get any of Miller's quips. But damn, Gallagher is just plain stupid, and Levin is pure torture to listen to, he sounds like a squeaky desk fan, high pitched, loud and annoying. What kind of commercials can you sell when the ratings are that low? Gold commercials, and commercials for secret energy generating systems that "they don't want you to hear"

Playing static would result in a raise in IQ.

I barely ever hear talk, just 30 min each way to and from work, it all just guys trying to get you angry about things you have no reason to get angry about, things you were never angry about, and things you shouldn't get angry about.

I love my new Ipod, I can set up BBC podcasts and Economist podcasts and documentaries and listen to them as the day goes on.
