One sports-talk station, probably KDUS.

Progressive talk (aka Air America) won't be dying, but it will be someplace on the dial other than 1010. 1480? 1060?

I agree, Scott Conner should be the first to go. I really feel bad for him cause I was listening a couple of nights ago and he couldn't get a caller if his life depended on it. Either he or his producer are really bad at picking topics to talk about. I think he was talking about how people are vandalizing grave stones and why are people doing this. Real moving radio!!!!

My source at Phoenix Air America is not talking. The most I can get out of him is this:

"I can't say anything in detail at this point, but my take is that Phoenix's Air America fans don't need to sweat it."

We may have to waterboard him.

The management at KDUS themselves have been talking about this for a year, but apparently the money coming in for pay-to-play is good enough. If not AAR, there's really no other format.

I had posted recently that the libtalk people were talking to 1480, but I haven't heard any new information on their cash-raising efforts. The deal was supposed to be done by know, and 1010 was going to promote the new frequency on air by mid-December. Like it or not, ACR pays to on 1480, and I don't think ownership is going to get rid of a perfectly good LMA client to bet on the come.

I remember your post over there, but there's also the possibility of KPHX returning to a Spanish-language format. I'd be surprised if All Comedy Radio is still in business by mid-year.

If Gumpdusky decided to put Air America on 1060, the sports programming could be split between KAZG and KDKB - Sporting News Radio, Nebraska football, & ASU baseball on 1440, and the Coyotes staying on 93.3, for example.

Of course, KAZG would actually have to be on the air at night with their mighty 52 watts, which I believe their license allows even though they sign off at sunset.

Yes, but someone would have to pay. It wouldn't be talk, since 1190 has that tied up (question, perhaps for Mr. Eduardo: is KNUV running any Radiovisa content or is that still affiliated exclusively on KMIA?). And god knows there are enough low-billing, low-rated Spanish music AMs. How about Air America en Espanol on Talk 1400 KSUN.

Does Sporting News Radio even need to stay? Nebraska football could stay on 1060, as several libtalkers clear sports from previous formats, most closeby KABQ/Abq with Broncos and Rockies games. I wasn't even aware ASU baseball was on 1440, but I guess as long as the check clears...

ASU baseball is on KDUS 1060; it's been there the last couple of years. It had been on KMYL 1190 before that.

Radiovisa folded a couple months back. KMIA is running "La Tricolor," the same format as KLNZ 103.5, but not a simulcast. This must be temporary until the Arizona Cardinals' season is over (they broadcast Spanish-language Cardinals games), then 710 will most likely flip to Entravision's "José" format.

I thought they had folded, but the site is still up and just as it was, so I wasn't sure.
