Phoenix radio baffles me???

You take a station like kzon when it was alt and you flip it twice and it roughly gets the same numbers it did and probably same revenue when it was alt(so what was the point of them being flipped?) And then the edge really baffles me they have no competition with kzon out of the picture for now and yet they have lower numbers then they did when kzon was around wtf???And then we have energy dance radio which does not even show up half the time but after what 6 years or so is still beating around lol I am guessing the owners of knrj just really like techno i liked it when pistol pete did mandatory no not metellica but mandatory madonna just very odd they have not flipped energy thank god!!!

If it was one of the suits at cbs clear channel radio one citadel energy dance radio would not have lasted 6 minutes never mind 6 years.

Every business expense is a tax writeoff. It makes no sense to force something to lose money to save on taxes. What this would mean is that to avoid a profit of $100,000 where maybe $30,000 would go in taxes you would also forego the $70,000 in after tax profits. Why would anyone give up a profit of $70,000 to save $30,000 in taxes?

"Tax writeoff" is something out of TV shows and bad novels.

Phoenix is the worst radio market ever! It may be top 20 by size but thats about it! Arbitron diaries explains everything! C'mon PPM!!!
 
No phoenix is not to bad a so so alt station not near as good as it once was just a few years ago but not to bad and they have a dance statioon techno at that a very very very very very very niche forma.hardly any of these in this country!!! And they have some liberal talkers which i appreciate. I was sorry to see charles goyette go but we do need a chr/pop station yes i know it has been tried before but it just might work this millineum.

There are far worse markets then phoenix but my favorite market is los angeles.

It all depends on personal tastes. A decade ago, I couldn't stand the radio here. Now, I think Phoenix is one of the best (if not THE best) markets around. I especially appreciate it when I am in other cities and have difficulty finding stations I enjoy.
 
For an old radio guy that travels alot right now, radio is the same in all cities. You think it is so much better or that they have the new format because you can't get it in your city. It depends on your mood as to what station you listen to. All Dj's think they are funny and have the best show. All Pd's think they are the only ones that can program a great station. All Gm's think they can manage and make decisions better than anyone else. I think the kids from "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader" could operate a radio station as well as any of the above. Ever since I remember in 1950 radio is the same. Tell me something is new in how a radio station sounds on the air? Not talking tech or equipmemt. Radio will continue to use people to get ratings and revenue and then find someone else that they cam rotate in who is not doing well at their current station but can do better in a new station to get revenue and ratings. It is a business. RIGHT...........
