Phoenix Radio Ratings: April 2023

Pride Radio is a GREAT dance format with an excellent balance of currents and classics. Thrilled to see it getting enough listening on an HD-2 to show up.
Agreed. In Phoenix, Pride Radio seems to be what would be referred to as a pure CHR/Dance outlet. However in other markets such as Minneapolis on 101.3 HD2, the format is more of a CHR/Pop with a Dance lean. It appears they may be running a different feed in many markets.

The pure classic dance titles, the current dance titles and just the overall vibe musically is not the same in many other markets as it is in Phoenix. Musically, the Phoenix Pride Radio station on 96.9 HD2 is one of the best sounding Dance Hits stations I've ever heard.

And, like all huge metro areas, little one-location retailers can't afford radio. And the shops and services that serve the entire "Valley of the Sun" through multiple locations generally have a local ad agency.
So, wouldn't it be logical to think that perhaps those "little one-location retailers" are using the social media platforms (Facebook, Insta, TikTok, Nextdoor, et. al.)?

Yes, that is where a lot of their budgets go. But those small businesses were never bit users of radio. Instead, they used those weekly neighborhood newspapers and shoppers as well as direct mail. Now, as you say, they are mostly using Google search based services and other highly local Internet services.

For the dwindling amount of direct mail circulars in my mailbox, seems like that might even be slowing a bit - at least here in this desert town.

I'd have to think that even 50 years ago, there wasn't much of the 'small business' advertising on radio. Seems to have always been 'expensive' for what you get?
