Hmm, that's weird. The news/talk we-talk-you-listen station that refuses to interact with the community is strangely losing it's audience. I guess listeners actually want to have their opinions heard and not just maybe-perhaps-possibly-at-some-point read from a twitter or facebook page.

Nope, not weird at all. Just sad. They would rather blow money on sending reporters out of state...why, exactly?...and to various locations around town...more wasted expense...than, heavens forbid, field phone calls from any listeners.

Sending news reporters to various places around town to report on news for a news station??? Preposterous! Unthinkable!

Sending news reporters to various places around town - and out of state - to get voter reactions to a debate, including undecided voters reactions (not news per se) at expense to the station when they can open up their phone lines and get those voter reactions for free is just silly. Asking experienced news reporters to report on what the station's web site "says" is equally silly. There's a reason so many listeners have fled to 91.5 for news coverage: credibility, maturity, and professionalism.

Edited to add: And, yes, it is "unthinkable" that a "talk radio" station won't take listener calls anymore. That is, after all, one of the characteristics of the format. 92.3 of late reminds me of that John Carpenter movie "They Live" - all bubblegum, no kicking butt anymore - We Talk, You Listen.
