Since when does Levine care about "Heart and soul"? Since when does radio-in-general care about it? Get with reality, kid.
Levine fired Pi. It ain't Levine's first, it sure won't be his last. Pi was a player, but a SECONDARY player. Whether or not being secondary is Pi's only career role remains to be seen. But the fact is, getting rid of ANYONE in radio is always a recoverable event. JR will find another to sit in Pi's place...or not. Who knows, you may find you like the new guy/gal even better. You don't know if the morning was truly "working well"....behind the scenes issues are often much worse than imagined.
Pi will go on to whatever is next for him, JR and Levine will get over what is, in reality, an insignificant bump in the road.
If JR doesn't make it, it won't be because Levine fired Pi.
Radio always survives.
