PIANIST ROGER WILLIAMS DEAD AT AGE 87

One of the easy-listening all-time greats, Roger Williams, has died of pancreatic cancer at age 87.

He burst on the scene with his hit recording of "Autumn Leaves" in 1955 and recorded many, many albums over the decades. Mr. Williams was musically active up until the very end.

Rest in Peace Roger Williams -- and thank you for all the great music you brought us!

Requiescat in pacem. A brilliant musician from an era when there was a lot of brilliance, even as the rock 'n roll era was settling in.

SADLY, I'll bet you NEVER hear his music on any oldies stations. Probably doesn't test well with the supposed "experts" No I am not say all Roger Williams all the time, BUT, at least play them once in a while. RIP Roger thanks for the great music !

Actually, I've heard "Born Free" multiple times on DG's Adult Standards (and before today).

Actually, we play several Roger Williams cuts on KZQX (QX-FM). RIP Roger. You will be missed.

I live in Las Vegas, and Roger played here as recently as a year and a half or two years ago. I grew up on his music, thanks to my mom and her easy listening LPs back in the Sixties. Roger will be missed.
