Picked up Fredricton, New Brunswick AMer last night

Last night on my little Walkman I picked up CIHI AM 1260 out of Fredricton, New Brunswick last night. This was around 9ish. I live in downtown Bristol, Connecticut. Normally if I get anything on 1260 it's RADIO DISNEY BOSTON. So anyway I heard Country Music on 1260 and then I heard a commercial for Daley's Furniture in Fredricton. Not knowing where Fredricton was I Googled the furniture store and found out it was in New Brunswick. So I went to Radio-Locator. They have CIHI listed for 1260 with an unknown format. I figured that must be it. Listening for a little while longer I hear them ID the station as COUNTRY KHJ. And Sure enough on Radio-Locator they have a listing for 93.1 CKHJ in Fredricton with a Country format.

Radio-Locator is as trustworthy for Canadian radio information as I am for information about the greatness of the 26-time-world-champion New York Yankees. (There would be a smiley face here, but that's working about as well as...well, about as well as Radio-Locator's attempt to list Canadian radio stations.)

Yes, 1260 in Fredericton was once CIHI, but that was a decade ago. Yes, there was a "93 (C)KHJ" in Fredericton, but that was a decade ago, too. The CKHJ calls have been on 1260 for quite a few years now, and that's what you heard. It's at least an occasional catch in New England, or at least it was when I lived in Boston in the nineties - never mind that the 1260 pattern is supposed to be aimed mostly north from a tower site north of Fredericton. (They have two FM relay transmitters to help get the signal into Fredericton better.)
