Pink Floyd on Magic 102???

While crusing 45 I was digging the jams on Magic 102.1 on their Sunday classics. When the station resumed music after a commercial break and a legal ID, I heard that famous "cha-ching" sound; the intro to Pink Floyd's Money. I thought the DJ was going to use the intro as a talk over, but nope, the whole (album version) song was played. I was quite surprised to hear this on an R&B station being that Floyd is a rock band. I really didn't take any offense into it because the song is extremely rhythm and blues based. Afterwards, there was some George Duke, The Jacksons and an Earth Wind and Fire track that wasn't "Boogie Wonderland or "Let's Groove." Man, Magic is awesome on Sundays!

One of my fondest memories of listening to Majic 102 was from a couple of years ago, on a Sunday, listening to the 1968, 6:10 version of "Stay In My Corner," by the Dells. Right song, right place, right gal, right time!

Including the "too good bulls---" lyric?

Bravo, Magic 102.1 for playing Pink Floyd's "Money"!! :):):)

i'm ALWAYS delighted when a radio station steps out of its usual "just a bit" and plays something that NO ONE expects..bravo, bravo, bravo!! ;D

Funny, because I remember reading a lot of posts about how bad KHPT was for going outside their 80's playlist.

and that's probably those who DON'T get it - let me say it again....

I'm ALWAYS delighted when a radio station (ANY radio station) steps out of its usual "just a bit" and plays something that NO ONE expects.... 8)

The so-called rock stations here forgot how to do that along time ago... New AC/DC and Guns 'N Roses CD's... fuhgetaboutit... No time for that gotta play the same 3 Aerosmith or Nickelcrap songs everyday. The radio used to be something great to listen to. When I do now, its more of a chore just to get past the same-old-sh*t songs everyday. Going out on a limb means the buzz played REM and the arrow played Dire Straits.

Been driving an old car temporarily with no CD player/Aux input, only a AM/FM. Imagine that! Forced to listen to talk shows because the music radio is such a horrible bore.

That reminds me, I NEVER NEVER hear She's Got the Jack by AC/DC. One of my favorite songs; the best part is when the "crowd" is booing at the end.
