Pioneer DEH-P9400BH question

I have the Pioneer DEH-P9400BH radio in my car now but I notice that for some reason on 87.9 and 92.9 it is picking up some kind of birdie. On 87.9 I should be hearing nothing maybe some slight slop from 87.75 in Cleveland and on 92.9 I should be getting just the IBOC hash of WZAK 93.1 but instead i'm getting a weak to moderate blank carrier. I also notice that on 101.5 there is something messing with reception of semi-local WRVF in Toledo. Anyone know what might be the cause of that? The stock radio never did that. My car is a 2007 Buick LaCrosse.

I have the exact same model, and don't have the symptoms you described. 87.9 is clear except when somebody drives by with a modulator, 101.5 is blank in this area, 92.9 is a local but 92.5 is 100 miles away and coming in fine.

I suspect some sort of interference. Before returning it as defective, I'd bring a portable out to the car and see if it does the same things.

The Tecsun does pick up the birdies on 92.9 and 87.9 especially when I hold it next to the Pioneer radio and also when next to the microphone hooked up to it for the Bluetooth. So now I'm wondering if its the Mic somehow generating the birdies? I tried powering down my cellphone but the birdies were still there.

I don't see a on/off switch on the mic itself but I'll have to look thru the settings to see if I can disable it. I had Best Buy install it so I didn't see how exactly he hooked up the mic but it looks like he ran the wire above the interior ceiling somehow to the back of the radio.
