Pirate? 107.5 Wethersfield

My XM FM modulator is set on 107.5 and I've never had a problem with it in the Central Connecticut area. However, around Jordan Lane in Wethersfield I've heard oldies on this frequency powerful enough to overtake my XM modulator. The pirate? signal is in stereo and can be heard for a couple of miles to the Berlin Turnpike where Stop & Shop is. By the time I get to Hooters area, the signal is almost unreadable. It might be a "Part 15" station. I've heard no voice announcements and there's nothing on the FCC site for 107.5. Any thoughts?

If this station goes for a couple of miles it's not a Part 15. It could be a Low Power FM or a Pirate. I'm gonna guess a Pirate. Have you tried another frequency for your XM?

I had to drop someone off in New Britain yesterday, and as soon as I neared the Berlin Turnpike, I remembered this post and decided to go off track for a little bit, somewhere just before Sam's Club (I was heading North of course) I was picking up some mixing between WBLS and a Classical station near Boston, somewhere after that point a short burst from "Frank FM Portland, witha class reunion..." and faded from there. Shortly after crossing into Wethersfield, I started getting a signal, a little bit then after the 5-15 and 314 interchange the signal was strong, in stereo and was just music with nothing between songs. I stopped and turned around at the Stop & Shop, so I wasn't there long enough to bother doing a log, but I'm pretty sure this one's not a part 15.

The classical station is likely WFCC-FM from Chatham, MA. "Frank FM" is WFNK-FM 107.5 and is licensed to Lewiston, ME. As for the Berlin Turnpike (US 5/CT 15), is this station coming in anywhere near Wal-Mart by Bob's Discount Furninture in Newington?

No, you have to go much further north, past the split where 5/15 jumps off to the right and heads towards I-91. I think it started coming in for me around Hooters. It's a definite solid signal at the Stop & Shop. It sounds like someone's I-Pod or something, but those I-Pod relay things aren't that strong that I should be able to get them that far away, it has to be some form of pirate.

WFCC gets out like crazy!!!!!!!! I get them here sometimes if the conditions are right (Well i did before 107.7 went IBOC :()

I've also heard the Lewiston, ME and Cape Cod station when conditions were right on 107.5. I'm glad to hear that others have heard this pirate too. I was looking on a map and the area where I hear it. I wonder if it could be coming from the Goodwin Park golf course? Didn't they do some Christmas lights there with Christmas music broadcast over a FM Frequency?

where would you be located-OZ

In Near albany NY my friend (And 107.7 kills the freq with thier stupid IBOC crap which probably NO ONE is listening to :()

107.5 is looking like a very interesting frequency to monitor at random times. I'm used to hearing WBLS & WFCC fighting it out over the frequency with WBLS usually being the winner, but since this whole pirate mention, I've been tuning in at random, and yesterday I picked up Howard Stern from someone driving on either rt9 or rt 66 as I go over the Portland Bridge, same thing happened today, although it was before I got to the bridge (I think it might have been from stack st., I got another sirius signal right next to Gene's TV on 89.9 at times, could be the same one on a different freq.)Also, as I crossed the bridge, I pulled in the Maine station again, kinda wild condidtions right now.

I'm guessing you mean the Arrigoni Bridge heading over the Connecticut River into Portland (CT)?I live in New Britain yet I know Portland, MAINE a lot better than Portland, CONNECTICUT, despite having a relatives living in Middletown.

Yup,someone had thier sirius radio tuned to 107.5 and they were listening to Howard stern ;DHow far did that signal go??????

Oh no! not the name of the bridge fights again? Ever since I moved here most people I have known call it the Portland Bridge. Now with the last few years people have been getting very specific not to call it that anymore, what gives?Actually, as far as stern on 107.5, I must have been following the person fairly close and they must have also been heading east on 66, as I got it very clearly until I kept going on Main Street (east on rt 17) this was between 7:30 & 8. Yesterday, not as clear, it seemed as though the person with the sirius wasn't moving quite yet, and I lost the signal on the north main street onramp to the Arrigoni. (oh no! I've been converted?!)
