pirate fined

Both stations were on first adjacent channels to licensed stations.
With all the clear second adjacencies available which would bother no one, this is rude and just plain irresponsible.

I'm a little perplexed that criminal charges have not been filed, or have they? In the state of Florida, it is a third degree felony to willfully operate an unlicensed radio facility.

Can't tell you, but take a visit down here, especially Ft. Lauderdale, turn on your FM car radio, and count the pirates.

*Today* I heard one along Griffin Rd. on 94.1!! Never mind that 93.9 is 1st adjacent *and* was running IBOC until last week....Either they waste no time, or it may have been running despite the HD (but then, who would hear it?)

We could open an FCC office down here strictly for pirate radio ops.

Yeah but would the FCC actually do anything?

^ I highly doubt it. They're understaffed, as far as I know.
