Pirate in Meriden?

I'm hearing a very strong Spanish language station in downtown Meriden on 89.9 MHz. Seems to be rebroadcating the 98.3 translator for WSGG Norfolk, CT. Any one know anything about this?

yes you can kinda cool. for the ***up see if you can get it up your way with a dx....the tv screen is snow making a litttle static with music.***Moderator's note: Edited to remove profanity.

I mentioned this some time ago, I was getting the exact same program on 89.7 as I was on 106.3 (I think it was 106.3, I forget, the post is back there somewhere) The program was the same as 98.3, but with loud buzz and very distorted.

Well, 89.7 W209BK is the cloest thing to 89.9, but W209NK is all the way up in Talcotville. However, with 8W/30feet, you shouldn't be able to hear that thing in Downtown Hartford, yet I can.Keep in mind, The Radio Avivmiento/WSGG folks are the same ones who ran the 97.1 [Pirate in Hartford several years ago and even kept their 1620 pirate on the air even after getting the WSGG license.I'm willing to bet the FCC Field INspector would have a "field day" (no pun intended) if he inspected all their transmitter/translator sites and studios/offices.
