Pirate on 106.1 Haverhill??

Have you heard any ID's? Also how far does the signal go? Could it be someone with an iPod or a Sirius/XM radio? And finally how often have you heard it?
 
You're hearing the new translator for 1450 WNBP. 99 watts, directional, from the tower on the hill by Batchelder Park... Same tower at WNEF 91.7. Signed on last week.
 
Almost thought they were picking up WSCA-LP from Portsmouth but does signal go that far? But no acc to Wiki. under WNBP "The owners of WNBP currently hold a construction permit for a 90-watt FM Translator at 106.1 MHz, W291CC, with the antenna to be located in Amesbury"

Oops, I meant 90 watts. At any rate, it's on the air. Interesting antenna as well, had to minimize downward radiation, so it uses a pair of full wave spaced bays and a pair of half wave spaced bays.
 
A thread on this board from earlier in the year, started by L. Glavin, mentioned something about them doing 3 w on the 106.1 because they had to avoid the Portsmouth station? Directional?

I think Newburyport is maybe 22-25 mi from Portsmouth.
 
I tried to see if I could get them (the WNBP translator) here in North Salem, NH, but found that WCOD Hyannis was dominant on that frequency no matter what way I turned the antenna.

that station is a beast. interferes with my reception of Touch FM as close as Savin Hill, which is maybe 1 mile from grove hall if even?
