Last weekend, I heard music programmed on 91.1 that baffled me. Between 8 & 9pm, "two-fer" rock music was played without any identifiers at all. Now, I'm hearing Sirius/XM's "Big 80's" with Martha Quinn counting down music from 1983. Any ideas?
Can you hear it when you drive around in your car or just in your home? Could be one of your neighbors with an early model Sirius radio that had the FM modulators that were WAY over specs.
I had one of those early modulators and I could plug it in at my shop, then drive about 1/4-1/2 mile away and still faintly pick it up on the radio in my van. I bet a lot of folks got free XM following me down the road in those days!
I also think it sounds like a non-compliant Part 15 modulator. Someone near Baptist Hospital has one that they use to rebroadcast TV audio and it blanks out 107.9 in a 4 block radius.
I was at home in Myrtle Beach off of Hwy 501 just south of the Conway line. The signal doesn't come in too often. If I hear it again, I'll jump in the chariot for a spin. Thanks!
If not for the specific programming information I was going to say WRBK Richburg, SC. They simulcast on several other stations and one at 91.1 is supposed to go on the air in your area this year.
