Today while making a trip from Amityville to Mineola I heard some gutteral yelling and screaming in something other than English on 92.1 with a large hum in the background. I first noticed it at around Rt. 110 & the Southern State Parkway. What attracted my attention was that the stereo light was lite on 92.1. Traveling west on the SS, it disappeared, but came back going north on the Wantagh. It was fairly strong in Westbury and BTTW in Mineola with no picket fencing at all. When the something less than human sounding screaming stopped they were playing alot of familiar church hymn tunes being sung (or rathered butchered) in some foreign language. It almost sounded French. On the trip back home I carried it all the way back home to Amityville and tonight it is still on the air.
Has anybody else heard this? Any ideas of the source? From the range and the strength, they've got be pushing more than a few watts.
