This station according to the website says they are in the Hudson Valley.

However the website www.myfly1049.com directs to another site.

They also appear to be using graphics from other radio station websites. Note the flash on their site compared to www.power1057.com

The real WYLF is on 850 in Penn Yan out in the middle of the finger lakes region.

WYLF is an internet based station; reportedly operating on 104.7 @ .025 mw. The station is only listenable within a few hundred feet of the antenna, but if you want to be technical, they are broadcasting on FM Radio, abeit at low power. I don't think they qualify as a pirate station.

Well i would guess 104.7 makes sense, its not like there are any other radio station in the Hudson Valley transmitting on that frequency 8)

Hmmm why bother then??

That is precisely what a part 15 radio station does. It sounds like somebody is playing radio station by 'broadcasting’ their web stream. This is a perfectly legal unlicensed operation used by some schools and colleges for on campus only stations. It is also used by drive in theaters. They however must avoid any interference with a broadcast station, so the supposed frequency in use seems bizarre as they would be overridden by K104 WSPK 104.7.

I think you made a minor error on 104.7, its 104.9 :) They are on FM indeed in Poughquag, perfectly legal, i believe its under Part 15, as MHV said, used for colleges, schools, drive ins. The tower, is located at a high elevation, which I believe is why it gets decent coverage in town. Another myth debunked!
