Pirate Radio in Martinsville

I thought this might be an early April Fools joke. But, I guess it is very real. 93.7 is not an open frequency for
Martinsville. It's way to close to 93.9 in Indy. Also, this frequency was recently granted to Paul Dean Ford.
To share this frequency with Paul, you need to be 70 miles from his transmitter. 500 watts is considered a Class A
by the FCC.

FCC raids are no longer kind and gentile. Today they bring SWAT teams.

Not funny. This pirate has damaged legally licensed broadcasters. Jam my signal like
that and I will sue the Holy crap out of you.

No one knows the name of the pirate yet. So, he can still escape. He might want to read these simple steps for
obtaining a license from the FCC. After all, one can sleep better if he doesn't have to fear Federal Agents and cops
dragging him out of bed. Believe me. I know.

Here's the steps to starting a radio station with the FCC.

1. Find an open frequency that meets the FCC's minimum spacing requirements. If there
is none in your town, you may have to move to start a station.

2. Form a not for profit Corporation. You can do this for about $25 in most States.

3. Wait for the FCC to open a filing window.

4 Fill out and electronically file the application with the FCC.

5. Wait for the FCC to grant your Construction Permit (CP).

6. Build your radio station.

7. Apply for your license.

Location is important. Visibility can double or triple your income. But if it costs you more it can sink your boat.
Knowing how to make money is good. but knowing how to budget is just as important.

You better love radio if you build an LPFM. You will not get rich operating one.

A LPFM wouldnt allow as much power as he runs, and probably wouldnt approve his format... a LPFM I think is only allowed 100 watts,,, this station has way more than that... Its been off air with an open carrier buzzing and humming for a few days.. There have always been pirates in Morgan county, An Oldies station on 91.5 a few years back, a White Supremacy Racist radio on 101.1 Also Gone Now,, and Rhythm fm 88.5 operating out in the country south of town,,,, coverage is very small,, think its a Part 15... Format is Dance music and Rap... And for years off and on 93.5 also playing Dance music from the 80s and 90s with no IDs but they moved to 99.1 because 93.7 mystery FM Squashed it out. If you go to Radio Locator it will show you all the available frequencys you can Operate a Part 15 on..

I was through Martinsville today & all I heard was a trace of WFCJ Miamisburg,OH on 93.7. I assume it went away?
