Pirate TV

Speaking of TV pirates.Remember Capt Midnight in 1986 when he broke into HBO.In protest of Scrambling signals for big dish owners cant receive HBO for free.At that time he was fine for $5,000 plus placed on one year's probation.According to Wikipedia. If he tried that today .He probably get life.

I seriously doubt he'd get life as such a sentence would hardly fit the crime but he'd surely serve an awful lot of time behind bars though ;)

Cheers :D

Actually thats not true. At One Time There was Part 15 on TV. Channel 14 to be exact. but I imagine the local pervs brought that to an end.
In fact, there were several Part 15 TV transmitters made back in the day.

I'm a bit skeptical of that, since I know that Part 15 operation on any TV channel has been prohibited for quite a long time. Note that just because they were selling those transmitters, doesn't mean they were actually legal -- I do seem to recall the FCC going after the makers of illegal TV transmitter products as well as overpowered FM transmitters.

So when do you recall that unlicensed Part 15 operation was allowed on channel 14?

This was years ago, I forget when they prohibited it.
