Pirates at 101.5?

I tried listening to CBS FM in the Bronx this morning, but they are being drowned out by what seems to be a pirate station at 101.5 (and not the talk station in NJ, not the rock station upstate and not the easy listening station on LI all usung 101.5) but what seems to be a caribbean music station that popped up recently calling themselves "101.5 The Hot Spot on Your Dial." Anyone else getting the same interference?

You got interference from a station two channels away?

Skip..a far out maybe. "Unlicensed broadcasters" on 97.5 advertise the Saddle Brook Marriot on Phele Ave. The announcer on 100.7 is telling us about a nightclub in Newark near the airport. What are the odds of skips on these?

They are in Brooklyn, so I am told. Although they were using 101.5, I could still hear them along with much static on 101.1 (have not bothered to try listening to CBS FM since). Another station popped up at 100.7 and totally drowning out WHUD, not sure where it is originating from, however it also seems to have a caribbean theme.

Might not be a Pirate. It could be "e Skips" :

can happen anywhere but Ocean humidity can "help". The Gulf coast can be active in the summer.
