That sounds fine Mr. SCRHack! I'm in. But since we now all know that you used to work for Mix, I opine that you may have inside information, rendering a possibly not-so-level playing ground.

We certainly wouldn't want you to have an advantage over the rest of us Mr. SCRHack, so in order to make it fair, you MUST give us three to one odds. If the bet is $100 per person, you have to put up $300.

No ifs, ands, or buts Mr. SCRHack! These are the rules. If you agree to the terms of this contract, then we may proceed.

I havent worked for Mix in almost 5 years. And I was only a morning show intern! Those terms are unacceptable but since its fake money... I agree.

OK good...you're in.

My prediction:

First to switch: BEN
Second to switch: The Beat
Third to switch: Sports 950
Fourth to switch: Smooth Jazz
Fifth to switch: FREE-FM

I think We'll see WIRED before any of those. And I don't think 950 or Free will flip. I think O&A may syndicate themselves to save Free. I like the Smooth Jazz call... but the station is so cheap...

Wait... Why would BEN flip now? Doesn't GM have some sort of policy about letting stations flounder for at least four years before doing anything to save them?

And if WIRED were to flip (which I don't actually think is going to happen), wouldn't they have to change to something for which they could retain the services of one Chico in the Morning? They wouldn't just pay him off, would they?

I'd welcome that change.

I don't think Chio is a determining factor, I mean look at what they did to Barsky! The track record is there.

I would hope that they'd have at least learned something from the Barsky debacle.

You give them too much credit, how many morning shows has WIRED mired?

I doubt that very much. For mainstream talk we have 990 and 1210. 990 is a decent station and barely even shows in the ratings. Why or how would a third talk station work in this town? It wouldn't.

Sports will fail...I don't think there will be too much dispute about that. The end result? I actually believe that 950 will return to a music format. I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of "Music for the end of your life" or "Unforgettable Favorites" simulcasted format debut on 950 sometime this year.

Laugh all you want, but it's doing well in Trenton on WBUD. In reality, aside from brokering time, what else would save 950? Liberal talk? Nah.
