Places where Jimmy Kimmel will NOT be at 11:35?

I'll start the list:

KSTP (Minnepolis/St. Paul). Currently, it's 10:00 News; 10:35 Nightline; 11:00 News; 11:32 (!) JKL
In January, it will be 10:00 News; 11:00 JKL; 12M Nightline

Interestingly, WISN, KOAT and KITV all air hour-long newscasts during the 10PM hour and seem to have done well with it ratings-wise. Plus there are numerous ABC affiliates in the Central and Mountain Time zones who don't want to give up that post-10:35 PM timeslot because of previous commitments to air syndicated programs, so I don't see ABC forcing them to change that practice either.

WEAR-TV in Pensacola, Florida immediately came to my mind after seeing the name of this topic. They would broadcast the program beginning at 11:01 p.m. (Central) before broadcasting "Nightline" afterwards. I wish they would shorten the time period for their local 10:00 p.m. newscasts for the convenience of folks interested in either "Jimmy Kimmel Live" or "Nightline".

It will not be on in the Leno Household.

Which Leno household?

When does this start? I checked the schedule for WBBJ in Jackson, TN and they still have Nightline at 10:35 CT And Kimmel at 11:05 CT through Jan. 4.

Kimmel is doing some sort of "Good Bye To Midnight" special that Monday night, in part to celebrate his upcoming 10th anniversary. WTNH-TV (ABC) channel 8 of New Haven has it listed as 11:35 PM ET, starting Tuesday the 8th.

WSB Atlanta (which didn't air Jimmy Kimmel until 2007) will follow the changes. In fact...as part of the promo for the timeslot change Kimmel flew into Atlanta and taped a promo with the WSB news anchors and met with fans (like he did when WSB first aired the show). WSB is aparently the top rated affiliate for Kimmel.

ABC 33/40 Birmingham will follow the changes as well (Kimmel at 10:35 CT, Nightline at 11:35 CT).

Here in Beaumont, it looks like KBMT will keep the second run of "Two 1/2 Men" at 10:35 and put JKL at 11:05. My question is, will ABC get firm with affiliates and eventually force all of them to move the show to 11:35/10:35? When Letterman started out on CBS, several affiliates in TX delayed his show to 11:05 (and infamously, KMEG in Sioux City didn't air him at all, leading to SC becoming the first "home office" for the Top 10); now just about all CBS stations air him post-news. I also don't know of any NBC station that delays or pre-empts Leno (although KRIS in Corpus Christi didn't air him for a few years in the mid-to late 90s).

KDFW in Dallas was one station that pulled that option, airing a rerun of "All in the Family" at the 10:35 slot instead. Not sure whether they switched Letterman before they switched to Fox in the summer of 95. If I recall correctly, KTVT went in pattern with the network and aired Letterman at 10:35 when they went to CBS.

Personally, I think the move of moving Jimmy Kimmel up to 11:30 (ET/PT) and pushing "Nightline" back to 12:30 A.M. (ET/PT) will backfire big-time.

"Nightline" has been the top-rated weeknight late-night network program for a couple of years in overall viewers (and sometimes in key demographics), and I think the major reason is that it's different from what else is on in it's time period. It's not a comedy-oriented talk/variety show.

By September, I think there's a very good chance that "Nightline" will be back at 11:30, and Kimmel, if he's still with ABC, will be back at 12:30 A.M.

The aforementioned WEAR-TV now has promos promoting Jimmy Kimmel's brand new timeslot...the 11:00pm local timeslot instead of the 10:35 (CT) spot that ABC wants to beam the show in nationally.

This inspired me to check other ABC affiliates owned by Sinclair Broadcasting: It seems to be a company-wide decision to put Nightline in that post-local news timeslot instead.

I figured WEAR was going to run an hour of late news followed by Kimmel at 11PM. Are you suggesting WEAR will be showing Nightline before Kimmel? No more 10:35 late late local news?

The TV programming guide for WEAR-TV provided by TitanTV still has "Nightline" scheduled for broadcast beginning at 12:04 a.m. this Wednesday after "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (scheduled for broadcast beginning at 11:01 p.m.).
