Plan to rename Htfd's Grove St "Bob Steele Drive"

Yes, I realize that Steele is a legend not only in Hartford, but across the US, but he's been dead for twenty years. Ain't it a bit late to start naming anything after Bob Steele???

Bob died in 2002. And I didn't realize Connecticut had a statute of limitations on namings. Better late than never, IMO. Bob was a fixture in the city for so long his name deserves to be remebered somewhere in the city.

OOPS. Mea culpa. If something gets named for Steele, how about the WTIC AM studios?

Salty Brine had the WPRO AM/FM building named after him in Providence, so it's definitely not a bad idea. However, with the studios being in a non-descript office building in Farmington, it's not really much of an honor at all.

I think it's totally appropriate to wait a few years after someone's death. Immediately following a death, emotions are high, and what sounds like a good idea at that time may not stick. At least at this point, you know that Bob Steele Drive will always be a good idea.
