Plans Firmed For Multi-Network Hurricane Relief Benefit

It was announced today (September 2nd) that a one-hour benefit special for hurricane relief will be broadcast on Friday, September 9th from 8 to 9 P.M. EDT on six commercial broadcast networks.

ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, UPN and the WB have all announced they will carry the special.

If there are enough guests appearing on the show, I would not be surprised if the program ends up being expanded to an hour and a half or two hours long in order to accomodate all of them.

This is an NBC press release announcing the date and time of the program.

Expect this concert to also air on PBS, "i", Univision, Telemundo, Telefutura (dubbed or subtitled into Spanish on Univision, Telemundo and Telefutura), independent stations, most cable networks, many radio networks, and to major Internet sites for live streaming. I expect that this special will also be broadcast by television networks in Canada, the UK, and many other countries as well.

It had been anticipated that the special would have aired next Tuesday (September 6th), but perhaps the reason why the special won't be until the 9th is to give the organizers enough time to put the program together.
