After the parent company of Plant Broadcasting was sold to telecommunications solutions provider TruVista Communications, the group’s Albany, GA area radio stations have gone silent.
PlantTel, a company that provides high-speed data, video, and voice communications services, operated classic rock WFFM Ashburn (105.7), country WTIF-FM Omega (107.5), and classic country WTIF (1340), which is simulcast on the Tifton-licensed translator W260AT at 99.9, under the Plant Broadcasting banner. With the November acquisition of PlanTel by TruVista, the station licenses were transferred to Sterling Southern Land, which is owned by PlanTel CEO Danny Sterling. Assets of the radio stations, including the broadcast towers, were part of the sale.
