Play 98.7 Reception

Am I the only one that's noticing a problem since Monday afternoon with 98.7's signal? Power seems to be there but it almost sounds like it's slightly off frequency. I thought it just may be my one radio but it was doing the same thing in the car too. I'm in St. Pete so even at reduced power I should receive them OK. Seems to only be 98.7 as 92.5 sounds normal. You'd think with social networks and such these days that if they were having an technical issue for an extended length of time they'd say something about it on their web site or at the very least Facebook page.

Companies don't pay attention to their radio stations. Not since the Telecom Act of 96. CBS has someone maintain the 98.7/92.5 Property and nothing unusual is happening with the equipment so they don't notice.

None of the 24 listeners noticed anything wrong with their radios.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

I noticed it. I even tweeted, and text them asking what was up and got no reply, which is unusual. The MD over there is a social butterfly usually and she's been fairly quiet this week on her twitter feed and online.

Sorry no one answered your tweet (the new morning show has us busy). We had some equipment issues after a big storm this week and I am no engineer so all I know is that we are getting it fixed soon.

I <3 that the folks over there are on top of listener feedback. I noticed all seems well now on my route for work tonight (Tampa International to Tarpon Springs to Maximo in South St. Petersburg)

How is Play's signal in Tampa itself, which looks like it's on the end of Play's 60 dBu strength?

It provides a 67dBu signal over Tampa. Just shy of a City-Grade signal. Now east of town towards Brandon and Temple Terrace is were you run into signal issues.
