Playlist 92.7 gets two new call signs

Playlist 92.7 gets two new call signs.
KJLL-FM is now KLST-FM Fountain Valley
KHJL-FM is now KLSI-FM Thousand Oak
but, KAJL keeps it current call sign for Adelanto.
:)

Rearanging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Actually when I am in the OC I listen to the station and like the music. However the logo "Playlist" doesn't do anything for me.

That'll give them numbers...LOL.

Actually, it's probably a sales tool to state that they aren't Jill anymore.

Yes, I agree - everybody knows radio stations have playlists, but using that as your brand is a bit stark. It's kind of Toyota and Subaru decided to name their new cooperative sports car "Fast and Handles Good."

They're modeling the brand after iTunes playlists, not the fact that radio stations have playlists.

Re: Playlist 92.7 gets three new call signs

As of today Playlist 92.7 Adelanto station changed from KAJL to KLSN.

In a PPM world, call letters are about as irrelevant as it gets.

So why do stations owners change them?

I hear this all the time "Call letters are irrelevant". If the listener doesn't care, why do these people even go through the trouble of changing them. Even in a PPM world?

If it was really "irrelevant", KAMP would still be KLSX (at least at the top of the hour.) But if nobody really pays attention to these things, again, why bother?
