Playlists

I run a station that programs late 70's to early 90's How many songs do you put in your playlist? I know too big a playlist can be a bad thing but so can too small. What do you think? TIA Bob

The snarky answer is "as many songs as test well".

If you don't do your own testing, pick a couple of higher rated similarly formatted stations that you believe do actually test and merge the playlists. Songs that don't get on every list are your judgement call, but put them in lower rotations anyway.

Remember, you are not in the music business. You are in the advertising business. Play what attracts folks that advertisers want to reach.
