Playoff Beards

For those not familiar with hockey tradition, players on teams that make the Stanley Cup playoffs grow "playoff beards". They don't shave for the duration of their run. It would be fun and show support for the Lightning if all Tampa Bay radio and TV guys would do likewise and not shave as long as the Lightning remain in the hunt. The Lightning have had a few down years and this season was such a nice turn around.
 
Glad the Bolts are in the playoffs, and it's fine if DJs and talk hosts want to do this, but anyone who considers himself a journalist and goes along with this idea needs remedial training in their profession. They're here to report, not to support. Just cover the news and don't be a fanboy. Yes, I'm talking to you, local TV stations.
 
Happened to see the Noon news on Ch 10 today and noticed anchor Keith Jones with a new beard. Later in the broadcast he explained it is, in fact, a playoff beard that he is doing with the Lightning that will be part of a charity event. Nice going Keith!
