Please fix the HD-1!

Many years ago in our young adulthood, we subscribed to a CATV system which had some local radio and TV stations send them preprocessed (and predelayed) feeds.

We would keep the N/T radio station cable feed on in the background for hours waiting for *something* to slip out.
Never happened :(

BTW...back in the day, many AM talkers would send predelayed audio out on their FM station's SCA's as IFB. We also made a practice of listening to WJNO on WRMF's SCA.

Aren't some stations using a spare profanity delay for HD instead of a purpose-specific box?
A question with a question:
Would they be able to set the delay to within miliseconds of the HD delay?

Whether you use an HD purpose-specific delay or a profanity delay - various stations are using either method - the delay drifts over the passage of time, so the analog gets out of step with the digital. A separate purchase of a precision sync unit from Day Sequerra fixes the problem, but the box costs $3800. If you don't pony up the additional cash, your engineers have to constantly tinker with the delay to get the streams to match.

Apparently most stations don't think the additional expense is worth it. They let the engineer get to it when he can get to it.

Having the HD1 out of sync is the equivalent of being off the air to the listeners with HD radios. I'm not going to listen if the audio keeps jumping around and I can't force my radio to analog.

We are a...HAPPY CAMPER :) We just fingered out how to lock this JVC deck into digital OR analogue mode until we change stations again...
There might be a way to do it. We do not know if our table model Radiosophy can be bullied, but with that one, we just move the antenna around and get either digital signal strength or analog.

I have spoken with several station employees including management and talent. They do not know about these digital issues because, their "next radio will have HD".
