Please, I beg you...

I will try to keep this as anonymous as possible:

WXX?, please please I beg you... Please take "Baby got back" out of your rotation..! It always gets me when I hit #2 on my car radio where you freq resides, I hit it not expecting, thinking ahh time for some great radio, awesome DJ's, and a fresh presentation and then BAMM....I like big butttssss and I cannnnot liiiiee....aaahhhhHHHHHHH.... and sometimes, not always butt sometimes...There is a big person within sight whom I would rather not be looking at AND hearing that song at the same time...You know the one I am talking about, not a full figured person but the one with the pink jogging pants that have the stains and the nine kids with the five different fathers, I know I am off point here but, 5 of which are in jail for triple check fraud and abusing animals. I say thanX ahead of time for your compassion!

You guys are awesome but it is time to give that one a rest!! :-\

VBIED....time to half the dosage of Prozac...putting the racist diatribe aside...the song is still a favorite of many listeners.

I don't believe, for a second, that you have a stereo in your car with buttons....so turn the knob back to the country station. You'll feel more at home :D

Dude...

"diatribe"??? What are you? and what does race have to do with a person who is of a large size?

and because I make a comment about an undesirable type that is not my type that is in fact a stereo type that means I have a car stereo that has knobs, I like country, and I have to double the already large amount of prozac I am currently consuming?? Yeah that's why I listen to the X...cause I love country. Perhaps turning a knob is what has been prevalent in your mind this morning?

Step back and say your sorry Dude, sorry for being grumpy and saying things you don't mean and not making a measurable amount of sense! I will forgive you, cause I actually like reading your replies, usually that is! Go grab some java relax and do something nice for yourself today!! ;D

Sorry, Dudeman ... I have to agree with VBIED on this one. Where was the racist comment? No race was mentioned. Is it possible that the comments he made caused you to THINK of a certain race? THAT is racist.

What's offensive (to me) is how some people see racism around every corner. VBIED's comment had nothing even remotely racist. I agree with Bang Bang...please point out the racist comment...inquiring minds want to know.

Having fun with you on this MLK Day! I actually didn't find ANYTHING about the post offensive...but Al Sharpton might...march on!

I'll assume you are a male, correct? They are not programming to you...

Alright, you geeks, let's talk about the actual programming decision.

"Baby Got Back" is a good gold title, but should be a flavor, and not something that's played 7-10 times a week. It's up there with "I Will Survive" on the list of burned-out anthems.

Let us not forget "Old time rock and roll" and "Celebration".

Why do you feel it should be a flavor and not get scheduled once a day (additional overnight spins can be accounted for via recycling in Selector)? I feel it can be played in regular gold rotation IF it shows high favorablilty with the demo and is scheduled correctly.

Can't argue with that, Mr. Mic. Of course, Triple X would never know, because they don't do research. They just assume that it fits their station because a bunch of suburban New Yorkers like it.

Baby got back is still popular, when I was working at a chr not that long ago it was requested once a week. Honestly it should only get played once a week or less. I'd love to take that and mambo number 5, living lavda loca, and ice ice baby and put them in the bottem of the ocean only to be brought up for labor and memorial days.

Why should it only get played once a week. I gave reason to support why I'd play it more (positive callout). What are your reasons for saying that (or any song) shouldn't?

Program to what the listeners want, not what you want!

it has a high burn factor. I bet if you did a test MOST people would agree with me. If I played only the songs that people called up a requested I would only be playing 6 the same songs over and over. A majority of listeners never call and request a song.If they dont like what they hear they just click it. Every dj has had those constant callers who call everyday for the same song. Or even better the kids who call over and over an when you tell them that you KNOW its the same kid they try fake accents.

How do you know if it has a high burn factior with the demo? By the way, I didn't say "requests", I said callout, as in research. Too many programmers think "I bet people agree with me" as opposed to saying "the listeners (research) are telling me this". Now callout is not the final word in deciding what goes on the air, but it's probably the most important factor.

Now if that song is played today during early during AM Drive, tomorrow or the next day during the midday, then the next day late in the afternoon and then the next day during the night show, you just played the song 4 times in 4 - 5 days and chances are (on a high cume CHR), a minimal amount of audience heard it more than once.

Hmm... i've seen this before....a certain sales manager used to say same about my show! Does this station have a sales rep named Carla working for them?

It always amazes me when a particular song that somebody hates comes under fire!

When any radio station plays a tune (or has a talk show host) that you hate...TURN TO ANOTHER STATION WITH A SIMILAR FORMAT! Or program your own background music instead! :p

4 out of 5 doctors agree that it's the official theme song for 95.5% of the women up here. Now all we need is a no teeth song... oh... that's right... OKO's got that covered!
