I know I posted this in the comments from other members of this board..

But I just want to make it 100% clear even to some people that are still thinking about this "FREE FM " thing that CBS Radio has been converting over..

Ok we all got caught up in the promo thinking that Infinity ( now CBS Radio) was going to bring in FREE FM!
Well that is not the case, in fact as of last Friday 12/16/05 I called the PD of KDJM and asked him a few serious questions..
Like is WILLIE here to stay and he told me it is here to stay for good!
Then I asked him about the promos about setting Denver Radio free..

Well he told me this exactly..
He knew about the rumors that have started in Orlando Fl on the station 92.5 that was an Jammin station. The URL 925FREEFM.com was meant for that station in Orlando fl. Well it didn';t work so it went back playing music again.
SO that is where the rumor started and he decided to play along with the rumor and to keep it going he decided to let us all think that FREE FM would be coming to Denver!
So it wasnt' the case becasue he wanted to throw us all off on the fact abotu that. Cause he didn;t want to have anymore rumors starting anymore. And that was the only way he could think of doing that.

Plus KXKL is doing quiet well and infact you might here more 70's songs from the old Jammin library.
FOr KIMN they are doing quiet well actually in the Female area and that is what only matters actually to them. SO KIMN is staying at the current format and nothing well to KIMN at all!

So agian FREE FM is not coming to Denver!
So can we please close that subject up now and move on to something else? Cause it is really is sad to see how many naive people there are posting on what they have no idea what they are talking about and speculating on the whole FREE FM!
I went the right route and got the information directly from the main source!

And I would suggest anyone to do that the exact same thing instead of speculating and making them look like an idiot all the time to call the PD of the station that flipped format and get it right the first time! Casue tell ya PDs are more then welcome to share the Information of what is going on!

WILLIE is here to stay! Oh I left some things out..

The whole reason of the flip actually ( as he told me) as becasue of the stock show and he does feel bad about letting everyone go at this time! And he knows alot of people would think that was scrooge of him to do,and he didnt like it one bit! But it had to be done inorder to get ready for the stock show! SO he well have airstaff in place by then and promotional staff as well!

And that is why the flip occured when it did!
So again to WILLIE66 sorry to burst your bouble but maybe you need to stop speculating man.. its not nice or good..

Before I start, I am not saying FREE FM is coming to Denver. I could care less either way. However I think your comment above is wrong. 92.5 in Tampa flipped to Tropical back in August. Free FM was not a "publicized" brand at that point so this information sounds flawed to me.

It wasn't Orlando, it was Tampa and the station was a country format-WYUU 92.5
The address 925freefm.com was registered on July 26, but the station changed to spanish language on Aug 7th.

I just wanted to chime in on your comments about Willie 92-5. I was the Imaging Director at Jammin 92-5 last week and I was "released" with the rest of the Jammin air staff.

Yes, Willie is here to stay, so I've been told. And, yes, timing was everthing with the stock show coming. It makes sense. I heard they had Willie gear all made up for the staff meeting on Thursday morning when it flipped.

Radioman12, who was the PD of KDJM you spoke to on Friday? Was it Keith Abrams, KXKL PD and VP of Programming of Denver who is overseeing Willie? Or did you speak to departing PD Derrick Brown? Just curious since you did not mention their name. The way I see it and have seen it since October is that there are only two 92.5 frequencies owned by Infinity, Denver and Tampa. And, the url 925freefm.com was registered in July. And, we know that Tampa did flip to Tropical in August. So, it's possible Tampa was set to go Free at first and then they changed their mind and it was never to be Denver. I always thought it would be Denver given Tampa was already Spanish. I also thought Jan 3rd would be the day Jammin would go Free like a lot of people. So, when I heard country, I was extra shocked! Whatever the case, this flip has been in the works for a while. Probably since July anyway. I heard the Willie jingles so yep, it's been planned for a while. No beef, I was just wondering why Orlando was mentioned and I wanted to give you my point of view. And, in regards to the sweepers, back in October when all the rumors broke on FMQB and All Access, Derrick wanted to have a "Free Weekend" to really get these boards yaking about us. An ID was doctored up about being Free, played for half a day, then it was pulled so we would not upset New York. So, same thing last Wednesday, take advantage of the rumors. But, it is all academic right now. Jammin is gone and there is a community which is no longer being served.

To answer your question yes it was Keith that I talked to last Friday! He was the one the reciptionist put me thru on that day and that was whom I left a message for!
Now the truth is out ladies and Gentleman. :)
The reason why I didn't meantion Keith was out of respect actually. I didn't think it was right to do so.
