If anyone reads this that has pull, please turn the cd-quality version of JackFM back on winamp. Many of us who cannot afford aol use this to listen to the station. Here in Albany New York, there is no Jack. People like myself hate the free aol player version because its very poor quality. The quality is way too much bass, no treble, too mono and sounds very tinny and poor and no matter how we screw with our audio settings it don't make a difference, it is very unlistenable. Please help us Jack fans out.

It's not working, which player are you using?

Here is a thought... there are Jack stations all over North America, google one of 'em and find one with a good stream! :) Most sound a like, from the music playlists to the station voice.
Edited by JustinCase on 12/23/05 11:03 PM.

Even though i am not a fan of any Jack-FM station and certainly not in favor of it being on 101.1, i feel i should make a point about this. People want to listen to certain stations even though several others have the same format. It's not all the same thing, that's like back when CBSFM was Oldies 101.1 and streaming on aol saying to someone who couldn't afford aol or get the backdoor winamp code to go find another oldies station online that has the same type of limited playlist and listen to them. Same Concept and i was a person who didn't want any other station for oldies that was local but CBSFM and why is because i really liked the station, DJ's etc and i grew up with them etc. If someone likes nyc's Jack-FM better than the others they probably have reasons for it. In My opinion telling someone to go find another station in the country with the same format is completely wrong.

Ummm but JACK-FM has none of a tradional stations reasons, nor can it be compared to telling an old CBS-FM Oldies listener to tune into any other oldies. The DJ's and the activities and the big names made CBS-FM one of a kind! There are no DJ's on JACK-FM (cbs), there are no special features... JUST JACK and its the same JACK voice with the same attitude I've heard on all of them that I've come across in my travels. If its merely because it's from "NYC" then so be it, but this is so cookie cutter that if it were a smaller market, I'd say it could be produced anywhere and snagged on satellite.
______________
