PM Drive?

Are there any great shows in PM drive in SD?

If so, what are they and why? If not, why hasn't anyone spent the money to do a big PM drive show here? Is the PM drive show disappearing like the afternoon paper?

There are at least two or three AM drive shows worth hearing (which is still not a great number in a market of this size) but in the afternoons I often find myself listening to Steve Dahl in Chicago or to someone else in another market.

IMHO....I do not think any of the PM shows are great. Once in a while I listen to KOGO to Roger Hedgecock and it can be interesting. On the FM side, It's the same old music or useless chit chat that the DJs think the listener will find entertaining when they are actually either insulting your intelligence or a "not funny" top 5 list or making prank phone calls. I get so fed up with the PM drive that I end up listening to a CD.

I think KGB's Ditch is a tremendous PM Drive rock jock.

Why?

Great voice?

Funny bits or production?

'cuz he plays great music!
OK...seriously, the voice is fine, but the content is the selling point...very clever. His breaks are generally edited well, yet include creative and entertaining content.

Since I mentioned Steve Dahl, he and Garry Meier got back together for one 5 hour (!) show (on a remote no less) on Aug 18. It's on the web at the WCKG site:

Before Garrett or whoever jumps down my throat: No it's not San Diego radio, but it is good, local radio and maybe if someone in SD heard it they might get an idea. This mid-to PM drive show is better than most AM drive shows in SD.

What's amazing is that they were able to do this show spontaneously (apparently) after not having worked together for 13 years, and Steve did it sober. ;D I only assume Garry was sober.
