Is anyone familiar with how to post podcasts on your stations website. I am from a smaller market and would like to ad this feature to our site. However, I am not sure how to convert the audio files to .xml format...Does anyone know how to do this? I have Cool Edit Pro right now, but it doesn't seem like it supports .xml - Thanks for your help!

Usually a podcast is encoded as an mp3 or some other form of compressed audio. XML is for data files. RSS feeds for news or blog syndication use XML. Here's a very simple example of an xml file (if the editor likes it)<MyXmlFile> <ThisIsANode>Here is some data</ThisIsANode></MyXmlFIle>Yes, I realize I left out the DTD for those who might nit-pick me :p

Be careful with music. You can get in a lot of trouble being a radio station podcasting music and other imaging online.

Most music(RIAA/BMI/Soundscan) isnt covered under fair-use licensing just yet, thank the same parties who kneecapped internet radio and streaming of local newscasts.

There is a great Yahoo podcasting group athttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/podcasters/Very helpful folks and links to everything you need to know. Also, check your nearest bookstore. There are now three or four "Podcasting For Dummies" type books that explain it allGood luck.... (and yeah, stay away from the ASCAP and BMI music, unless you're going to pay them)
