Political Commercials Started Yet??

With elections having been called for January 23rd, I wondered if candidates and parties in Canada would have begun TV advertising as soon as the election was called, possibly bumping commercial time already sold, including Christmas-season spots from major Canadian retail advertisers.

Or might candidates and parties have decided not to begin TV ads until after the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays (or even not until January 2nd or 3rd)??

Have any political commercials been shown in Canada yet?? Have candidates and parties stuck to the "high road", or are a lot of negative ads being run??

You obviously don't live in Canada, as election ads have been playing ad nauseum for the past few weeks. The Conservatives have been running a tremendous amount of ads, including a group that include their leader Stephen Harper in a news studio answering questions from the anchor and people on a TV screen. They haven't been considerably negative yet. There's also been a few NDP ads, but I haven't seen very many Liberal ads at all. I think they're saving up for a vicious attack against the Conservatives when the leaders resume campaigning in January.
______________

I love the NDP ad that talks about the "Great gift" to give the liberals this holiday season, then they let a boot fall to the ground with a sound effect when it hits the ground.
In other words, give the liberals the boot.
______________
